The Club Teams Championship for the Crompton Cup is a single session team of four competition.
The trophy, donated by Carl Crompton, was previously used for the teams-at-home competition.
The date for the competition will be publicised in the club programme, usually at the beginning of September. Each member of a team must be a current member of the club.
Members should form their own teams. The partner contact will try to help match up pairs wanting team-mates.
A multiple teams event will be held using a suitable movement depending on the numbers. Each board will be scored using the IMP scale and the results against each opposing team converted into victory points.
In the event of a tie, the following rules will be applied in order until the tie can be split:
If it is still not possible to split the teams, a match may be played to decide the winners. If the teams do not wish to play this match or if the match has not been completed within three months from the date of the competition, a random draw of cards will decide which team has won the competition.
The winners are awarded the Crompton Cup
